The Adventures of Wing Girl

In an attempt to find information about Wingman’s rumored eat-all-you-can Buffalo wings promo, I found myself on the Facebook event page of the Buffalo Wing Festival. Organized by the Monday Supper Club, The Buffalo Wing Festival in Wingman, Makati, is a tribute to the National Buffalo Wing Festival in the US. This year, the official event will be celebrated on September 3 and 4 in Buffalo, New York.

A smaller, Philippine version of the Buffalo Wing Festival was held last night at Wingman. For P395 per head, my wing girl and I got to eat as many classic buffalo chicken wings (your choice of spiciness), carrot sticks, French fries, and bleu cheese dip as we could from 7-9 p.m. The ticket also came with a choice of two mugs of beer or drink-all-you-can iced tea—Alka-Seltzer not included!

To spice things up, The Monday Supper Club challenged the guests to a contest. The guy and girl who could eat the most number of pieces by 9 p.m. would win a prize. The winning guy ate a whopping 36 pieces, while the female winner had 13 pieces. What a shame that I arrived late and managed to eat only 12 pieces! The ironic part is: the prize was a one-month gym membership.

My stomach is still digesting last night’s degustation. While I vow to stay away from chicken wings for the time being, I can’t wait to see Wingman’s eat-all-you-can Buffalo wings promo turn into a regular thing. According to one of the owners, Erik, they were satisfied with last night’s turn of events and will definitely make it a monthly or weekly thing. For updates, check out Wingman’s Facebook page.

Don’t forget to tip your waiters!

Now excuse me while I look for some digestive tea biscuits in the pantry.
