Quirk of the Month: Oreo Stars
I discovered this new variety of Oreo cookies when I was shopping for groceries in Tagaytay last weekend. Instead of a sandwich, a single Oreo cookie has a star-shaped center (eight-edged star, to be exact) and is filled with the creamy white stuff that we all love.
There are three cookies in one pack and each pack costs P4.50 (about 10 US cents). Talk about a cheap thrill! Since Oreo is distributed in the Philippines by Kraft Foods Asia, I doubt you’ll find Oreo Stars in grocery stores outside of Asia.
Now if only they would come up with a “white stuff only” variant. I don’t care if it’s made of pure fat as the rumors have it.
