Throwback: Indian Rock Park

Wearing a navy blue cotton dress, a denim vest, and a pair of white sandals, I was definitely not ready for rock climbing. After a day of exploring Pixar Studios, my cousins took me to Indian Rock Park in Berkeley to make the most of my visit last year. A park that provides a panoramic sunset view of the San Francisco bay and entry-level outcrops for rock climbers, this 1.18 acre spot draws different kinds of visitors daily.

You have the enthusiastic rock climber who tests the boulders and carved steps, the family having an afternoon picnic, the college frat boys who irresponsibly leave their empty bottles of beer at the rock, and the teenage lovebirds looking for a cuddling spot.

And then there’s me. I slipped a few times, but made it to the top in my dress and sandals. I took a deep breath and sent a telegram to the heavens, saying, “I’m all right!”

A flashback to that spring day:
