3 Travel Beauty Finds

As much as I’d love to pack all my vanity essentials when I travel, I leave most of them at home, especially those big, chunky bottles. I’ve learned to pack a light toiletry kit, and I’m always on the lookout for travel-friendly beauty products. Here are three sets I’m testing this month.

1. Philosophy Fan Favorites

The retail Fan Favorites Bungle is $158, and you’ll get the Microdelivery Daily Exfoliating Wash (32 oz), Purity Made Simple One-step Facial Cleanser (16 oz), Miracle Worker Miraculous Anti-aging Moisturizer (0.5 oz) and the Microdelivery In-home Vitamin C Peptide Peel (1 oz). In my case, I got this 5-piece free gift set from Philosophy, which contains its bestsellers in travel sizes. There’s Purity, a 3-in-1 cleanser; Time in a Bottle, a daily age-defying serum; Hope in a Jar (Yes, the one Oprah loves), a high-performance moisturizer that suits all skin types; a sample-sized Amazing Grace fragrance; and the 2-step Microdelivery Peel in sachets.

2. Sephora “Spring in Soho” Eye, Cheek, and Lip Palette, $18

SephoraSpringInSohoPalette

This was given to me as a present from a trip abroad. Before discovering this collection from Sephora, I never really liked the travel palettes sold by other makeup brands because they often came in safe, neutral shades and a ho-hum packaging. Sephora Spring in Soho contains 8 edgy eyeshadow shades, 5 buildable lippie shades, one versatile peach blush, and two double-ended makeup brushes—all packed in a cute, two-drawer case.

3. Pink Sugar’s Travel-Inspired Collection

PinkSugarWanderlust

This Philippine beauty brand upped their game when they launched their makeup collection just a month ago. Talk about the power of copyediting! By simply naming some of their lipsticks and blushes with words that remind me of travel, I was immediately hooked. The blushes are called Sweet Cheeks HD Cheek Color, ₱499 each, and the shades from upper left to bottom right are: South Beach, Wanderlust, Concrete Jungle, Tokyo Rush, and Summer Nights. The lippies from L-R are: Sugar Tint Lip & Cheek Tint in Pink Paradise, ₱349, HD Lipstick in Daydream, ₱299, and Creamy Matte Lipstick in Selfie, ₱349. Feeling the wanderlust vibe yet?

Tips:
a. When you don’t want to pack too many products, you can use moisturizer as eye cream.
b. Forgot your eyeliner? Just wet the tip of a fine makeup brush and use it to apply the darkest eyeshadow in the palette.
c. Yes, you may use your powder blush as eyeshadow!

  1. I am not familiar with the pricing of Sephora. Is the palette really priced at just $18? Because that’s very affordable. I love the shades because those are very flexible. You can easily make a natural day look with these and turn it into a night makeup when needed! I think every girl who travels need that! As for the Pink Sugar collection, I have been reading good reviews about this new brand. What is your most favorite among the collection?

Yup, $18 only because it’s a small, travel-sized compact. Sephora is the best! If Asia has Watson’s for low to mid-priced beauty products, the US has Sephora for mid to high-end brands! I love the Pink Sugar lipsticks, especially since they have witty names like Bombshell, Free Spirit, and Selfie, haha! Thanks for dropping by, Rhen!

      • I love the witty names of their products too! It’s a very interesting brand. Aside from the fact that it is a Philippine makeup brand, the prices are very affordable too! I’m glad we are having more homegrown cosmetic brands that can compete with international brands in terms of quality. I have yet to try Pink Sugar, but it is definitely a part of my list!

  2. Thanks for the travel tips! I usually overpack skin care and makeup during travel. I end up not using half of them :/ I love philosophy’s skincare. I have two small samples that I can bring with me on our anniversary trip on December (I’m so excited!). I promise to bring less makeup and brushes. 🙂 I love Sephora. I hope they would open a branch here in the country. I want their exclusive kits. 🙂 Oh, I’m also starting to hoard Pink Sugar cosmetics. So affordable yet so pigmented. 😀

Hindi ako mahilig sa make up but I am familiar with brands. However, bago sa akin yung Pink Sugar. Since affordable siya, I might try it soon! hehe. Thanks for this travel tips ate! Pwede mag request? Packing tips naman po sana ang isulat ninyo. hehehe. hirap kasi mag pack light eh apir!

  4. For beginners like me who want to wear make ups, these are great tips. Looking forward to have all of these on the Holidays 🙂
