Watch This Flight Attendant’s Last Day Before Retirement
Before her official retirement last week, Annie Sulit was one of the three most senior flight attendants and pursers of Philippine Airlines. Two days short of her 60th birthday, she went on her final flight from LA back to Manila, where friends and loved ones greeted her in NAIA. She hung up her hat after 41 years of service.
Tita Annie is the mother of my high school best friend, Cristina. Whenever I visited their house, I would often see Tita Annie dressed in her PAL uniform with perfectly polished hair and makeup, ready for her next flight to another country. I always asked for travel tips and in true Filipino fashion, I sometimes asked her to buy me pasalubong.
She said she rarely had problems with jet lag. “I’m used to it,” she told me. The biggest jet lag tip I learned from her is: “You have to immediately adjust to the time zone of the country you’re in.” For example, if it’s bedtime in the Philippines and only lunchtime in the country you’re visiting, don’t be tempted to take a nap. Have lunch and adjust to the current time zone.
Now watch what happened during her final flight as PAL’s seniority #3, as documented by travel enthusiast Pinoy Flight Crew.
