Thanks to the luscious way they serve their hot dogs, Wicked Dogs in BF Homes Parañaque has been featured in many top 10 food lists since it first opened in 2015. Now they finally expanded to my main turf, Makati.

Located at the second floor of Lokal Hostel in Poblacion, the place has Wicked Dogs’ signature industrial look, albeit darker and edgier. This time there’s more than one swing seat to fight over, and a full bar to cater to the night owls and backpackers that frequent the area. In case you didn’t know, Poblacion is known for its hostels, hole-in-the-wall foodie joints, and—not to mention—the red light district.

No need to fight over the swings, kiddos!

On their soft opening early this April, I ordered my favorite Wasabi Dog, a wiener served on a split French bread bun and smeared with wasabi mayo, katsu sauce, and katsuobushi. Seaweed chips are on the side. Good news for flexitarians like me: There’s a turkey dog option instead of beef.

Dress code is super casual. In true Poblacion fashion, you may end up parking blocks away from the venue. You’ll also have to walk up a flight of stairs—a great way to work up an appetite.

Wicked Dogs is located at 2/F Lokal Hostel, 5769 Ebro St. Poblacion, Makati, Philippines.
