At last month’s launch of Generation Happy Skin ACTIVE, a collaboration between Happy Skin and Kathryn Bernardo, I sat down and chatted with the 23-year-old actress. She already discussed the Darna issue with several other publications, so I moved on to talk travel with the ABS-CBN star.
I asked about her top three travel beauty tips.
1. She masks during long flights.
“Every time I travel, I make sure to bring moisturizer. Kase diba when we travel, especially when we’re on the plane, may tendency talaga na maging dry ang skin natin and to break out. Usually, I have moisturizer talaga sa pouch ko and a mask, so during the flight nag-ma-mask ako just to hydrate the skin. Para kung long flight, fresh ka pa rin!
2. She skips the heavy foundation in tropical weather.
“Choose the right makeup for you, especially depende sa weather ng pupuntahan mo. So if you’re going somewhere na malamig, sana yung mga creamy and oil-based, para hindi mag dry yung skin. And then naman pag sa medyo mainit or tropical countries, maybe choose something na mas light, and then maybe wag ka nang mag foundation. Very important alamin mo yung weather.
3. She goes for earth-toned palettes.
“To look good sa mga pictures ng Instagram mo, I love wearing smudged eyeliner under my eye, kase for me it brightens up the eye. Nagbibigay siya ng, ‘Okay, you have makeup, pero hindi mo alam kung saan.’ So for me yun yung tip ko, brown eyeshadow under the eye and medyo smudged.”

“For the Butter Balm, my personal favorite [shade] is Free,” Kath said. “It’s the perfect nude [shade] kase pwede siya for all skin tones, and then nakaka-moisturize talaga siya. Ako parating na-dry-dry yung lips ko. And it has SPF so it’s perfect. For [Ultra Matte Lippie], I love Limitless. Kase pwede siya kung gusto mo lang very light. Pwede siyang just one layer, and para mas lumabas yung color niya, idoble mo lang and then you’re good to go.”
