Dear Joe’s Drive-Through Offers Healthy Choices

While I enjoy the occasional fast food drive-through, I’ve wondered for years if the Philippines would ever offer drive-through restaurants with healthier and more upscale choices.

Joe Drive has drive-through, indoor, and outdoor seating options.

Dear Joe, a growing café franchise in the south (think Cavite, Alabang, and Parañaque area), has addressed this need by building a drive-through version of their café along Daang Hari Road in Las Piñas, Manila.

Strategically built like those “hidden” Instagrammable cafés that want to be found, Joe Drive tempts every weary car driver stuck along Daang Hari to make a U-turn to grab a cup of juice or designer joe and perhaps a salad, pasta, or wrap.

From the same owners of Dear Joe, Joe Drive is a drive-through version of the growing coffee chain in the south of Manila.

If you’ve found yourself stuck along Daang Hari in Las Piñas, then you may have spotted this hip new cafe.

It’s not just for the residents of the private villages along Daang Hari. If you’re from the neighboring Alabang and Cavite, then this drive-through gives you a better option if you’re taking a break from the usual fast food. It’s a level above the Jollibees and Mcdos of this country, and close to the price range of Starbucks, but with more food choices.

Their menu is similar to Dear Joe’s regular menu, albeit with a few choices that you’ll find only in the drive-through shop. It’s definitely not fast food as it takes 10-15 minutes for you to wait for your order. In case you change your mind and want to dine in, they have both indoor and outdoor options and lots of parking slots situated in the relaxing greenery that the neighborhood is known for.

For food, choose from rice bowls, pasta, wraps, and salads. For coffee, they have iced, hot, and blended drinks. They also have fruity, non-coffee options.
Healthy pick: chicken Caesar wrap, ₱195

Iced mocha, 20oz, ₱215
Comfort pick: mac and cheese, ₱260

Kate’s Tips: Avoid the rush hours of 6-8pm as traffic builds up on Daang Hari. It’s best to eat the food in the car instead of reheating it at home. Doublecheck the lid of their semi-eco-friendly food packaging before you drive out as it tends to get loose.

Fancy a cup of Joe?
