Happy 30th Anniversary, Taters!
I can’t believe Taters is 30 already! As an ’80s kid and alumnus of Colegio San Agustin (I just hosted our alumni homecoming, by the way!), Greenbelt and Glorietta (formerly Quad) were like second homes to me. My after-school life rotated around Timezone (formerly Glico’s), Food Choices, and both the Greenbelt and Glorietta cinemas, whose loyal patrons like my family and friends were nourished by Taters.

Taters was my go-to for cheese, barbecue, and sour cream popcorn, and as the years went by, other salty treats like nachos with cheese, hotdog sandwiches, and for the health-conscious, the tofu chips. Other popcorn kiosks in the area could not compete with Taters’ quality. When it comes to watching movies in the Philippines, Taters has been the niche cinema snack provider since they started in 1994.
They now have over 80 branches around the country, but the Glorietta branch will always have a special spot in my heart.

To celebrate their trentastic third decade, Taters collaborated with SM Gamepark. Drop by the following SM Gamepark branches—Taters SM Mall of Asia Gamepark; Taters SM Megamall Bowling; Taters SM North EDSA Bowling; Taters SM Fairview Bowling; Taters SM Southmall Gamepark; Taters SM Sta. Rosa Gamepark; Taters SM Cebu Bowling; Taters SM Seaside Bowling; Taters SM Lanang Bowling; and Taters SM CDO Bowling—to play the Trentastic Game On Sport + Snack Tournament. Inspired by the Olympics, the games such as The Bow Blitz Champ (archery) and The Turkey Striker Champ (bowling) give you a chance to win Taters food prizes.

Keep an eye out for other promos and freebies, such as the Trentastic Bundles. Follow their Facebook page for dibs!
What’s your Taters throwback memory? And while we’re at it, what’s your favorite Taters movie snack?
