Petto Mart Is The New 24-Hour Emergency Pet Hospital in Makati
If there’s one thing pet owners and animal rescuers badly need in the Philippines, it’s a bigger selection of reputable 24-hour emergency pet hospitals. When I say pet hospital, I mean fully-staffed with functioning medical equipment, such as ultrasound, 2D echo, surgery gear, and diagnostic labs.
There are a number of 24-hour emergency pet hospitals around Metro Manila, while in the province where I’m from, they’re scarce to non-existent.
I’ve had my fair share of dog emergencies where the clinic labeled as emergency and 24-hour came with caveats—that some or all of their equipment are broken, that the vet diagnoses critical ailments without tests, that there are no vets and only aides during graveyard hours, that their definition of 24/7 doesn’t include holidays, plus many other horror stories. When I’m in the province, I’d rather drive far (1-3 hours away) for emergency care for my dogs and cats instead of taking them to questionable clinics nearby.
I was invited to the opening of Petto Mart in Makati this month. I thought it was just a pet supply and grooming center, so what a surprise to see that they’re a fully-equipped, 24-hour pet hospital with state-of-the-art hospital facilities and emergency services. They also offer home service vet appointments, which I often get turned away from!
From the same group that brought us Dogs and The City, one of the OG posh pet supply and grooming chains in Manila, Petto Mart is located on the G/F of Glorietta Mall, right across the driveway where you can easily drop off your pets at their entrance.
The owners have also been loyal supporters of my stray feeding and animal welfare projects for years.
Petto Mart is an all-in-one pet supply store, grooming center (Petto Clean), pet boarding (Petto Hotel), pet pharmacy, and 24-hour pet hospital (Petto Vet).
Their interiors are inspired by the owners’ travels to Japan, so the grooming area looks like a kawaii train station, while the shelves are filled with oodles of pet food and treats from Japan. You’ll feel like you’re exploring the cute marts of Tokyo. They even have claw machines where you can win cute plushies while waiting for your turn at the vet.
Pet owners of Manila and its neighboring provinces, if you’re looking to add a 24-hour emergency pet hospital to your list, I vouch for Petto Mart in Makati.
